CURANDERO "ARAS"

Curandero reaches into limitless musical horizons with this unique and Universal collaboration.

"Curandero" means healer or folk doctor and "Aras" means to plow the earth / to become centered or grounded while still in flight. 

Miguel Espinoza & Ty Burhoe are the core members of the band "Curandero". In this innovative and exciting release, they team up with banjo legend Bela Fleck and bass maestro Kai Eckhardt. The music created for this release is unique and dynamic, taking us on a sonic adventure through rivers, canyons and deserts, mysterious worlds of shadow & longing and emerging into the brilliant rising hope of new musical horizons. 

INVOCATION

OM Namah Shivaya Gurave — "I bow to the goodness within myself, known as Lord Shiva, who is the true teacher…" This phrase begins a chant that Yogis and meditation practitioners from all over the globe sing as a prayer to invoke Grace, and blessings on their practices. Now, Ty Burhoe has composed stirring music to accompany this sacred chant. He is joined by some of the world's top musicians from the yoga, World Music, and Classical Indian Music traditions

On Invocation, Ty offers lush incantations that create a melodic wave of devotion to wash over you during your home yoga practice, meditation, or bodywork sessions. Invocation features Ty Burhoe, Krishna Das, Manorama, John Friend, and Amy Ippoliti. The CD features beautiful vocals, sarode, Sarangi, rich drones and keyboards, cello, violin, piano, double bass, tambura, and harmonium.

SKY

Sky is an inspired and daring blend of world fusion with elements of jazz, classical and funk. In this unique recording, the soulful sounds of Indian tabla blend seamlessly with the uplifting melodies of the piano and the deep groove of bass and drum. From lyrical ballads to world groove to J.S. Bach, this unique collaboration traverses a diverse soundscape which touches the spirit of creativity.

Sky features the music of composer/pianist Bill Douglas, together with the rich and heartfelt tabla playing of Ty Burhoe. They are joined by the brilliant bass playing of Kai Eckhardt and the genius of Steve Smith on drum set.
